The AIHS is Australia’s professional association for the health and safety profession.
The AIHS represents the profession in policy, advocacy and standards work, and provide a wide range of services to the field including career support, peer engagement, information services, trusted knowledge as stewards of the OHS Body of Knowledge, and a wide range of professional development and career learning opportunities for Health & Safety practitioners.
Jo Kitney
Jo Kitney is Chair of the AIHS Certification Governance Committee and a member of the AIHS College of Fellows. With 25+ years working in Australia and the UK, Jo has a strong appreciation of the importance of capability, credibility and standards of practice for those working in health and safety.
Based in Brisbane, Jo is also the Managing Director of Kitney OHS and Toolkit Solutions, and Director of Djambul, an indigenous consultancy based in Cairns. Jo works across industry with small, medium and large organisations, WHS Regulator, workers compensation insurer, unions and employer associations
Kelly Somerville
Kelly Somerville is responsible for managing the AIHS Certification program, liaising with candidates, assessors and the volunteer governance committee in all aspects of the program.
She comes from a background in Hospitality and Project Management and is eager to support applicants on their journey towards certification.
